Plan a board-game night or social gathering

Create an event without requiring teams, ratings, or a tournament.

  1. Start from an attendee list

Open your group’s Events page and expand Create an event. Choose the Attendee list preset. Presets set optional modules; they do not create a permanently fixed event type.

  2. Set the essentials

Enter the title, description, start time, and scheduling timezone. A new event defaults to today at noon; an optional end stays blank. Add an end time when known, a capacity if needed, and a free-form location, physical address, or online link. Address-provider credentials are optional.

  3. Choose registration and visibility

Select public, unlisted, group, or invited event visibility independently of open, approval, invite, or closed registration. Configure waitlisting and which attendee/schedule sections visitors can see.

  4. Publish and share

Review the event status in Settings and publish when ready. Copy its link. Signed-in eligible users can join; organizers can add accountless guests. Use event chat for event-specific conversation and group chat for broader discussion.

  5. Add competition only when useful

Enable Team Play if you later want team proposals, or Tournament for a staged competition. Resources include type, quantity, optional individual names, and table seats. Recurring events receive distinct resources for each occurrence; changing resources preserves historical match links. Existing event identity and history remain in place.
