Understand and edit ratings

Choose the metrics you need without duplicating player rows.

  1. Choose your columns

Owners open group People → Choose columns and enable Host Skill, Elo, or other systems. Rating columns start disabled; ordinary members do not receive them. Column choices, search, filters, sorting, and pagination remain in the page URL. Ratings display two decimals, while edits and calculations retain full precision. Matches played is available separately.

  2. Set host skill

Authorized owners can edit Host Skill directly in the table. Enter any finite decimal number of 0 or above and Save. Zero is a valid rating; Unrated means no value has been assigned. A stale edit asks you to refresh instead of overwriting a newer change.

  3. Use a meaningful local scale

Your group decides what its manual values mean. Team balance uses the selected pool’s spread, and automatic tiers use relative skill bands. Equal values stay together in the same tier. Manual skill never changes from match outcomes.

  4. Read automated systems

Elo reflects relative results against opposing teams. Glicko-2 also tracks uncertainty. OpenSkill supports a distribution-based multiplayer rating. The statistics system reports result aggregates rather than a probabilistic skill estimate.

  5. Review history

Eligible finalized matches update automated systems whether or not they were used to form teams. Open a player’s history for the ledger. Corrections preserve previous revisions and rebuild the affected automated rating history.

Ratings are scoped to this group. Identically named players are separate identities. Match counts derive from actual match participation, including eligible forfeits.
