Import players and attendees

Bring a CSV or supported Meetup event into your roster.

1. Choose the destination

   Use Import on group People to add group players. Use Import on event Attendees to add attendance as well. Choose CSV or Meetup where available.

2. Prepare CSV data

   CSV requires a display_name column. Optional skill values must be finite numbers of 0 or above. Provider identities require both provider and provider_id. Quoted fields can contain commas. Paste the CSV into the import form and submit.

3. Import from Meetup

   Choose Meetup, paste a supported HTTPS Meetup event URL, and submit. The background worker fetches the source and records import status. Refresh Import activity to review the result.

4. Understand identity matching

   Stable provider IDs reuse the same group player even when their display name changes. A CSV without provider IDs creates distinct players; repeating the same names is not a reconciliation method. Request retries are protected against duplicate effects.

5. Handle an unavailable source

   Meetup may restrict access or change its format. Read the import error and use a CSV fallback with stable provider IDs when possible. Eventus never reports a restricted or failed fetch as a successful import.
